Yep. On a world-basis the motor industry had to merge or at least share (badge engineering). I heard last week that there was something like 58 RV manufacturers in the Campbellfield, Somerton, Epping, Craigeburn area making RVs and or components .I think that in several cases, there are multiple brands / types come out of one factory so that accounts for multiples. It would be like Ford (when it was fully functioning) being listed separately under Falcon, Territory, F-Series, Laser, Louisville, Cortina (yep they were all made here at some point).
Maybe RV manufacturers need to start thinking outside the square, on the scale of things Australia is only a very small market. I took these photos last week on a beach in Oman apparently the popularity of RVs is taking off in the Gulf countries. You make a good enough product and people will buy it - as far as I'm aware there are currenty no RV manufacturers in that part of the world.
Cheers

I was parked next to the biggest van I've even stood by other that the massive triple axle vans that you often see with circuses. It only had 2 axles and was towed (not a fifth wheeler) by an F250. I've forgotten the weight dimensions of the F250 and van but it was massive. The van entry was still on the right. The van was similar to the attached pic. The owner often carried a Harley in the back but on this occasion two push bikes. It was impressive.
It was then replaced by a very large converted tourist bus that was on it's maiden voyage.
Unfortunately every person who comes up with a good idea wants to build their own trailers/vans. And that has worked well up until the last 5 years.
However with the influx of Chinese made vans with catchy "Aussie" sounding names on the front, people are buying these cheaper units - perhaps to their detriment further down the track when warranty service is non-existent! I know the local New Age dealer has told owners of these vans to contact their supplier (but they have often gone out of business).
Australia is rapidly becoming the country that cannot manufacture anything (hope Trump & Putin don't start WW3!). Most of our toothpaste is made "up north"!

Warranty and service what a joke we have a 3 year old Aussie van ,that had a two year warranty,so many phone calls being mucked around, driving long distances, being fobbed off,I can go on and on,Iam glad its out of warranty, warranty is just a joke well it was with our well known Aussie brand, just fix the thing yourself right from day one saves a lot of hassle ,even buy a good second hand rig warranty is just toilate paper...
