I am sure I read on the forum about new regulations at Greens - but do you think I can find it????? It was that camping restricted to 7 days, and no pets.
Maybe I was dreaming - but anyway beside the point - called into Greens today for lunch, it was so serene sitting there eating a nice salad looking at that almost pink water - one boat out - families enjoying life..
Still has the magic - the beautiful Greens Lake.
We spoke to some people camped, obviously for a while, and asked them about the new rules - they said - no nothing happening - we've been coming here years, stay as long as you like - and bring your dogs - never heard any new rules for the place.
So - who knows what it's all about - are there new rules or not - no signs that we say saying anything different than been for a few years. Surely if they are implementing them - when do they let the public know?

Thanks John - I must have missed a fair bit, mid February - for some reason - it all makes sense now - and I remember at the public meeting in 2013, that the water guys have restrictions, they are able to apply, if necessary. Still a beautiful place - camped at a lot of lakes - lovely places - but Greens is magic.

Craig1 - I have been a member of this forum since 2010. I have posted 11927 times - I am quite aware there is a sub section for Greens Lake. I wanted the general population of the forum to see my post, especially some who no longer camp there, for various reasons.

In comparison to many on this forum I am a total newbie but someday I am sure I will come across Greens Lake and if all reports are close to accurate I would like to camp there, beside the lake.
Thank you jules47 for drawing attention to thenew regulations.

Like a lot of other locations that have been enjoyed by many campers over the years, it's days as a long term camping destination MAY be numbered? eg: rusted out Coaster Buses staying there almost all year round.
There are too many Baby Boomers taking to the road, looking at Wikicamps seeking free camping facilities like this. It's a nice spot to visit for a few days/week but beyond that it's pretty boring.
The thing about Greens Lake that's great is that it is a meeting place for like minded people to socialize (GN Central), the location itself is pretty ordinary. Just our opinion.

I posted the original as I was not sure when or where I had read about the restrictions, Rocky Lizard pointed me in the right direction - so to clear things up -
THERE ARE NO "NEW" RULES AT GREENS LAKE - the rules have always been there, but are not applied courtesy of the water people - they are there to be enforced if necessary.
Forgive me for confusing some of you.

A little birdy told us that the amenities block has/will be condemned & that there is a committee looking into all facets of recreational use at Greens Lake.
A lot of money is needed for upgraded facilities/works which could possibly raise the ugly head of the FEES monster. Hopefully not, for the sake of the regulars.
We have lots of family up that way at Tatura, Kyabram etc etc.
