GWYNNIE'S AROUND OZ TRAVELS- Photos of Kangaroo Island

Hi fellow travellers,

Well I am keeping well out of harm's way of the 'BIG WET' in Queensland and have found a wonderful spot of country at OMG Kangaroo Island in South Australia!       A short 45 minute ferry trip by the SEALINK FERRY and you have beautiful sights of natural scenic sights to feast your eyes upon. eyepopping.gif eyepopping.gif  eyepopping.gif

  1. Stokes Bay
  2. Scott's Cove
  3. Flinders Chase National Park
  4. Vivonne Bay
  5. Western River
  6. Snelling's Beach

There are many other places I have yet to discover and so far the fish have been very illusive I must say, but I will find youoooooo!   Gwynnie  floating.gif

Hi Gwynnie. Check out the caves near the seal colony. Also, you might get some salmon of Vivonne Beach. Looking to sea there is a creek to the left of the jetty so somewhere near there. Fish with pilchards. Cheers

That looks so inviting! I've yet to see a photo of anyone swimming on KI - is it just too cold for that? Anyway KI is on our list and as we also have a slide-on camper it is easy enough on the ferry I believe. Beautiful photos
Thanks, Kay

Hi Kay, thanks for your comments, I have been on the Island for a week now and the temperature most days have been great.  I have been swimming at every locations listed as the seas are still quite tempered.

Being a very active fisher person I am up to my waist on most occasions and a great way to stay cool.  But I noticed the weather is now getting a little cooler, so the waters are becoming cooler as well.  Great to see another slide-on hope all is going well.   Gwynnie  floating.gif

Hello fellow travellers,

Still here on Kangaroo Island.....Since I have not given an any updates for a while thought I would pass on some more KI photos.   The family came over for the school holidays and I took them to Vivonne Bay, Remarkable Rocks and Admiral's Arch in the Flinders Chase National Park.  We saw some beautiful sights, the water was beautiful and clear and I took a special photo of a baby seal lounging on rocks. OMG it is sooooo cute!!!     Gwynnie    floating.gif
