Removing black streaks - what works for me

Hi all,

As many have, I get the usual black streaks down the paintwork after a good rain on the van.
In particular the older rubbers on the windows seem to be the main culprit.
Over the past 12months or so, I've tried a few varying products without  being overly happy with either their success or price.
So I thought I would share a quick video showing a product I found with proof of what works for me.

I'd be interested in hearing what others have been using and how it compares .

cheers Brett

Using the scourer on the paint really does wonders.

Gday...

I'm with you Mel ... never been an issue with my van either ... jest wash as normal - which is about twice a year if lucky.

Cheers - John

interesting Gaz, I'd not heard of wd40. I shall give it a try next time.

When I first got the van, the previous owner had it sitting out for quite a while I think and the roof was almost black.
So a lot of streaks were evident on it.
This was the best thingh I had on hand that worked so easily. A few of my van mates threw me some stuff as well to try.

I did try car specific washes including truck wash but none were successful.

Keep in mind, my van is almost 25 year old, so the rubbers etc around windows and the like make their own streaks when it rains

When I was researching the best way to remove them, there was lots and lots of threads and arguments biggrin on what worked and what didn't.  Debates aren't just limited to the electrical side of vanning biggrin

For 5 bucks, its enough to keep me going for a long time.  I'm yet to find another product that works so well for so cheap.

I'm keeping my eyes open though.

cheers Brett
