Help needed to transport my caravan from FREMANTLE wharf to Perth metro location

Hi,

Can anyone help me out for a fee to pick up and transport my caravan when it arrives at Fremantle wharf?

I may not be around at the exact date it arrives so would like someone to pick it up and tow it to a location. Most likely Fremantle campground which im about to book. (5 km from pickup)

It has a special hitch. See photos. Hitch will be stored in the front of the van.

Regards

Mark

Just a thought, perhaps contact one of the local towing companies as they would be insured and most likely able to work to any schedule.

From memory WA requires separate third party insurance on a caravan as in that state it is not covered by the tow vehicles insurance.

Bit of a rip off as I have never seen a caravan driving down a road on it's own. I think this also applies in the NT.

Hello Mark

If you PM me I should be able to put you in touch with a friend (south of the river) who has a big American ute or 'truck' (Dodge Ram 2500 if I recall correctly) & he offers a caravan transfer service as he tows a big 5th wheeler himself.

cheers, Kay

Is it licensed? What are the weights? Does it have WDH brackets on the drawbar? What are you offering, or would you prefer to receive quotes?

Gday...

Judging from this post, and an earlier one, regarding this van it is 33ft long - no word on weight but it isn't gonna be under 3,500Kg at a guess. hmm

Also, judging by the pics provided in this post, the 'special hitch' is a DO35 hitch ...

It would need a yankee ute, or a small truck I reckon ideally as a bit of a guess. Not sure, but looks like no provision for a WDH on the DO35.

Cheers - John

DO35 can be used with a WDH and is rated to 3.5T maximum.
