A truck collision on the highway has resulted in a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) leak.

The crash also caused a bushfire nearby. 

people travelling north from Carnarvon should consider stopping at Minilya, Exmouth or Coral Bay as the road will be closed for the next 24 hours. 

 ROAD CLOSURES AND CONDITIONS: 

Avoid the area and be aware of fire and emergency servcies personnel working on site.
A number of roads have been closed including:

• Northwest Coastal Highway in both directions, between Nanutarra Roadhouse and Burkett Road. 

• Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel.

• 10 volunteer Fire and Rescue Service firefighters are attending.

• Firefighters are on the scene.
