This. has been done many times before on the forum ,but. I find with caravan insurance it changes from year to year has anyone had a good quote for insurance lately this is the list Iam going to call.theres three months of the year we don't travel so That might help if nominated...
cil,Nrma,QBE,ammi,gio,Coles
We find it pays to phone around with insurance it saves heaps,as far as one is better then the other I doubt it ,there's probably three big companies that own the lot from what I heard .
we tried most of those companies as newbies and found QBE the cheapest by about 300 dollars...
i have to say we're not hugely impressed by the customer service and haven't needed to make a claim but the price was so much cheaper than the rest for our little new age road owl.
keep shopping around though And good luck.

I would suggest to give CIL a try. Also be wary of Coles & Woolworths insurance. Yes they may be cheap but you only have to Google them and read the problems that people have with them.
I also wonder where the insurance companies have their call centres. I know that CIL & Youi have their call centres in Australia. At least you can understand the person on the other end of the line and they do know where places are in Australia.
Thanks for your replies we found CIL hit hard as well ,with youi on talk back radio there have been some bad reports as far as paying up is concerned, but QBE sounds like it's worth a go ..
I am with QBE and dont pay for the months when I wont be travelling.
This is my second year with them and cover only went up by $3.

That's interesting, I used to have lay-up cover for my boat which was only used for about 6 months of the year and insured for storage only for rest of year. Didn't know it was available for vans so I'm going to look into it at renewal time.
