Camec screen/security door - screen popped out by dog. How do I get it back in?

Merry Christmas one and all.

As per the topic heading, the dog managed to pop the screen out. Bit along the bottom and side are out and I cannot figure out how to fix it.  Always seems to be a couple of inches I can't get in.  Is it possible to do and if so what's the trick?

Bit concerned now about how good a security screen it really is!

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Keep safe.

Hi Moose,

Don't yar love mans best friend. Maybe ask the dog how he /she managed it. Probably just give you a dumb look as always.hmm

However I can't help. Can you put up a few photo's. That might get the correct response, to solve the riddle of," Dog gone dam it."biggrin

Have a Great Xmas

Jim

Should be easy just call him, a bit of mince maybe. Cover the lower part of the screen so he thinks it's solid.

Get it repaired professionally & take the cost out of Fido's dog biscuit allowance. wink.gif

We had to have our pooch put down in March this year after 13 years.sadangel.gif

We wish we had a dog to run through our insect screen. We miss her so much.sniff.gif

Hi DD,

You might just find a Christmas wish under the Xmas tree in the morning. As long as you have not been to Naughty. We both wish both of you good luck.

Regards Jim & Lambie

Yep .. have the same problem . Getting the last two inches !! Lol May have to drill out some rivets to allow room to put screen back in ? The. Think of reinforcing? So it doesnât happen again ? Another alloy panel across the bottom maybe ??

I imagine that it is the security mesh that has pulled out. Only way to fix that is to pull the flyscreen out for about 100mm each way from the corner. then drill out the rivets on 1 side. that should be 2 rivets. then ease the corner apart slightly enough to get the mesh back replace rivets then redo flymesh.
Failing that take it to a professional. should only take a few minutes.

There are no visible rivets anywhere.  Can't really tell how it's put together.  Will have a better look - rivets might be covered by the paint.

I know exactly how the dog did it. Failed to see closed door and took a flying leap at it trying to jump inside.  Ended up on it's arse on the ground when it bounced off the screen.

I've now managed to get it back in but it's not sitting in properly so looks horrible (not sitting nice and flat). Will have another go with a helper.

Thanks for suggestions although some appear to have been posted by someone on the turps as I have no idea what they mean and have no relevance to the question I posted.
