Just scale them and leave skin on - in pan skin down (crispy skin) - Skin Leatherjackets - used to skin eels, but don't catch them anymore.

It obviously leaves the pin bones along the lateral line still in. The little ones that get stuck in your throat.

It's still a pretty good gadget though a decent filleting knife would give it a run for its money & cost significantly less.

Hi John,

What a waste of good fish fillets. My set of fillet and boning knives would leave that electric planer for dead. I can give myself a shave with the blades when at there finest. Fish fillet best when put into an ice slurry.

Off to SA in March to knock over some of their KG whiting. That gadget is only good for use as a sinker.smilesmilesmile

Cheers Jim

Plus the time it would take to clean up.

Have to agree here. Plus the fillets also skin better when the meat is chilled for 24 hrs.
