Damaging winds, large hailstones hit parts of Queensland.....

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) says areas between the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane, and Coolangatta on the border are at risk of damaging winds this afternoon.

In the latest severe warning warning, BOM said thunderstorms had been detected between near Brisbane CBD and Logan city.

Severe Storms are forecast to affect Coolangatta, Beenleigh, Strathpine, Redcliffe and Caboolture by 1:15pm and Cleveland, the area south-west of Caloundra and northern Bribie Island by 1:45pm.

Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely.

Nothing but Huff & puff - interesting comment.  Talk to those in the South East Qld region who had hail, 100 kph winds and like me 130 mls of rain in 50 mins. Some people live in a bubble & must think that the BOM only provide forecasts for their house or street. Usually when their house or street gets hit, off they go to the SES looking for help & "what can others do for me" attitude.
