If anyone is crossing the Nullarbor, keep an eye out for the Bushfires burning there,
Bushfire Advice - in the vicinity of Nuytsland Nature Reserve, including Eyre Highway, in the Shire of Dundas
Although there is no immediate danger you need to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changes.
Three fires are burning in the nature reserve, including 20km south-west of Chooklebiddy in the Nalonya area; 65km south-west of Caiguna in the Toolina Cove area and 65km south-south-east of Caiguna in the Baxter Cliffs area.
A number of roads and tracks have been closed including:
All access tracks south of Eyre Highway to Baxter Cliffs between Toolinna Cove track and Chooklebiddy
Telegraph track between Point Culver and Chooklebiddy/Twilight Cove
If driving
Be extremely careful when driving through the area.
Turn your headlights on and drive slowly.
Watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.
If you cannot see clearly, pull over, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
EXTRA INFORMATION:
The fire was reported at 11:00 AM on 28 November 2017 and currently there has been 13,700 hectares burnt.
The cause of the fire is lightning.
