Had a bit of time to kill and was looking on Caravan sales , and started looking at motor homes as fancied one at one point . Then out of curiousity looked at buses / coaches. some of these are 40' in length. I'm not sure why people buy these , sure they have a bit more room than a 25' van . But they are a hell of a beast to drive and manoeuvre , especially if towing a vehicle. I'd be scared to go down any back road or anything that had a damp dirt surface in case I got stuck there. It seems to me , and its only my observation , they seem to be a hard vehicle to sell unless they are a bargain .If theres any GN out there driving one of these , I'm curious what made your mind up to buy such a vehicle . Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking them , I'd just like to know and if you would do it different if you had your time over .
Big motorhomes, up to 40ft, were popular a few years ago but the GFC changed things in that regard. The main market now is the smaller c class motorhomes driveable on a car licence.
Back then many GN's bought old busses and spent a lot of time and money converting them, but not so much today.
There is still a limited market there for larger (up to 31ft) motorhomes but not too many buyers.
Spoke recently to a couple who had bought a large American 5th wheeler just over 18 months ago. They've been trying to sell it for the past 9 months on all the usual sites but no interest whatsoever.
Unfortunately they are down to the ''make us an offer'' stage. Why anyone would want a massive rig is beyond me. How much room do two little old retirees need even if they're living permanently in it?

perhaps if you all considered living in your vans instead of holidaying, you might find your home a bit cramped.
But of course, we all have both, dont we?
What was wrong with the swag?
