Rusty, I would imagine that a retaining clip would be an easy check at next service. Probably only a minor "couple of minutes" change anyway, Best to have it checked out even if not on list. At least it's not a Killer air-bag or Burst into flames recall advice.

Will get it checked. One thing these days with robotics on assembly there are no Friday cars. If the robot is set incorrectly, everything is crap and a lot easier to trace. Unlike humans where problems in assembly can be quite random. I worked at Ford and used get prototypes and pre-production to evaluate plus my own company car which was often a pre-release vehicle.The worst robotic incident I had was the new auto-tyre inflator being set at about 63psi rather that 36psi. Fortunately I took delivery of my vehicle straight off the production line and before the transport companies started to load theirs. Took me about 100m to realise that something was wrong. Car bounced all over the place and didn't brake properly.
