Hi to all out there. Can anyone recommand a suitable place for overnight stay with easy access to water to lower kayaks for paddling? Thanks heaps. Gitta
I stayed at the Rec Reserve a few weeks ago, $30 overnight, great spot right on the sheltered water of the lake.
Facilities a little old but clean, plenty of sites to choose from which was good.
I would recommend.
Cheers Vince

Try Lake Tyers Beach and Lake Tyers for kayaking. Easy water access and much prettier than The Lakes at Lakes Entrance as most of the Lake is situated in forest. Access to many areas of the Lake is through the forest. Great fishing as well and birdwatching is fantastic. Lake Tyers Beach is only 20 mins from Lakes Entrance and there is Lake Bunga in between which could be worth a paddle!
if the weather is windy then lake Tyers is a good option for canoeing as its waters are more sheltered. Best park for water access in Lakes Entrance is the rec reserve. They have removed all the holiday vans as well as the pine trees and put in more powered sites all backing onto the water. Bit it is getting very popular so advise booking ahead.

Thankyou all for your suggestions re camping in/around Lakes Entrance. Lake Tyres would have been perfect for kayaking but don't allow dogs. Had first night at Eastern Beach CVP because of creek running right along peremiter fence. Not recommended as water is full of brownish, slimy weeds. Will check out other kayaking options here today as well as having a look at Rec & Caming Reserve. Weather fantastic!
All of you have a great day wherever you are.
Gritta, are you saying the Rec Reserve and North Arm TP are not dog friendly? WikiCamps indicates they both are. If you are a WikiCamps member then please ammend the entries.
