I am thinking of staying at the Karajini Savannah campground next May or June, but have read some mixed reviews. I havit looks e a 2WD Motorhome, so am hoping that its accessible. Has anybody been there ... it looks like a beautiful area...

Is the Savannah Camp ground at the Eco Lodge? If so, we had a very nice lunch there and it had a good feel. If the Savannah is at the Eco retreat, have you had a look at the map on parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au? It shows the Eco Retreat being on an unmade road. I remember thinking thank heavens we left the van at Dales Gorge campground for our day trips. Dales Gorge Campground was great and on bituman. Karijini is amazing!!!!! We were there July.
We took our tent to Karajini last year and stayed at the Eco Camp. Tyres were an issue to some vehicles on sharp stones so we put good tyres on and took it slow with no problems. We visited another camp ground there and it looked good. Well worth the trip.
Karajini NP is well worth the visit, and the gorges are spectacular.
As Dianne says, the dirt sections of road, into Oxers Lookout, and direct route between Oxers and Dales Campground can be corrugated and with sharp stones. That said they would be doable with 2wd when dry. We did a day trip in from Tom Price last year and saw all we wanted, and drove those roads, albeit with our Cruiser.
As the Savannah Campground doesn't have power anyway, it may be worth going to Dales Campground, on the eastern end of the park and staying there. The road in is all bitumen, and you can do some walks to the nearby gorges. Dales would work out cheaper from what I have seen than the Savannah ground. You need to get there early, read first thing in the morning, to get a site in Dales, and people often camp nearby to make sure they don't miss out.
I would still go to Oxers Lookout and those spots just past the Eco Retreat, as they are beautiful as well, just take it carefully. I seem to remember a bit of a climb out from Oxers, but apart from being a bit rough, would be ok in the dry.
Karajini is too far from your starting point to not go there now you are in WA. It's a long and expensive journey to come back.

The map shows nothing of the sort. The road is a well formed gravel sufface road. It does get corrugated between gradings. There is nothing unmade about it. You can get any van into there if you are prepared to travel slowly.
The two camp grounds differ in that one is privately run and has an ameties block. Dales campground has long drop dunnies, there was one to each camp area when we were there. The Echo retreat is $20 per person night where as Dales is $11.

Peter what I was referring to was the legend on the map. The road past the Eco retreat is light grey on the map which on the legend says is unsealed. There were vans in there for sure. As you say it is a well formed gravel surface that can get corrugated between gradings, that is my take on unmade. Perhaps im wrong. Didn't mean to lead anyone astray.

The road to the eco resort was planned to be sealed some years ago, whether it happened I don't know. A call to rangers at Tom Price will give you an answer.. If not sealed I would go to Dales Gorge. May not be able to book but there is an overflow area. You could easy fill in a week or so as every gorge is different. The easiest accessed gorge is Kalamino (sounds like that) half way between Dales and Weno.
We have been camp hosting there 3 times now for 6 weeks each time and is our favorite place in Australia. So many wild flowers at the right time . If you like Karajini then Mill Stream you will enjoy also. I would get to Mill Stream via Karartha as the road from Tom Price end is a private road and very rough with lots of trucks. Also needs a permit.

An unmade road is one that the bush bashers have pushed through. If the authorities have constructed it then it is not an unmade road. In addition unsealed roads come in two types, natural formed where they just grade the material on site and gravelled roads where they have carted gravel in to construct them.
