Here are some from Wiki

Carpark, south side Kent St, near cnr Lennox St, Maryborough, Qld
This is free for 48 hours but you need a permit from council from memory.

93 Sal****er Creek Rd, Maryborough, 4650. Turn towards Airport opp Creek Rd Fish & Chip Shop. On unnamed road.... NO BACKPACKERS, Qld
Self contained and only $10.00 per nite per vehicle.

i have not stayed in either Rocket but both have reasonable reports in the comments section.

Probably closer to 100m. It's in the Alan & June Brown Carpark. No dump point there but the Doon Villa Free(ish) camp has one.

That is the spot...very close to the town centre.

Possibly more convenient to be close to the centre of town but it does depend on where the OP needs to visit.

66 kl round trip per day can be more expensive than just staying in a local caravan park. Every situation is different.

I have stayed a few times in the Kent Street camp. Very convenient and close to town. You can also go on a guided tour walk in the morning with someone from the town hall where you get the permit.
The market mentioned previously is on every Thursday and has a great array of goods for sale plus nice little cafes.
The shopping mall is just around the corner past the Telstra shop and has a great food hall.
