Yes we stayed at the carpark one and a casual walk to the town hall for a permit. Nice walk nearby at a beaut park. There was also a market beside the town hall on the Thursday. Neaut German sausages.

I have stayed a few times in the Kent Street camp. Very convenient and close to town. You can also go on a guided tour walk in the morning with someone from the town hall where you get the permit.
The market mentioned previously is on every Thursday and has a great array of goods for sale plus nice little cafes.
The shopping mall is just around the corner past the Telstra shop and has a great food hall.
