On our second day coming down from Townsville to Toowoomba, we asked at the Roma Information Centre about stops from there to Miles.

I was told of a free camp 20mins down the road & a hotel caravan park at Yuleba (pronounced Yool-ba). It was cheap ($15 a night on power), the limited facilities were basic but the service in the pub was spot on as were the meals.

And we discovered there was lots of history, good birds in the trees behind the van parking area (what more do "Birdos" want?) & a nice free camp at Judd's Lagoon (that many others have also found).

Will we go back? Yes! And we've told our friends in Townsville about Yuleba too!
