For NSW fires, try this site RFS-fires-near-me. It's an interactive site, if you zoom into the larger fires it even shows you where the fire has burnt. Look for the red, yellow and blue symbols in that order of severity. Click on the symbols for more info.

I saw up to 4 yellow symbols yesterday afternoon including KJ's one and another that closed major roads.
