RACV Total Care Pack.

Nice one this morning. RACV wrote to say that they have re-worked their Total Care Package to include the Tow Pack add on for large caravans or MHs. Covers up to 8.00 tonnes gross.3.3metre height. 2.5 m width. 9.00metres length. Balance of current tow pack to be credited to next renewal or product purchase.

Thanks for this advice goodie, it is appreciated

I have just sent the following inquiry to RAC in WA, (as a submit enquiry on their website), as up to a few months ago they still were not insuring motorhomes

My question is, do RACWA insure Motorhomes
I have read on an internet forum that RACV, covers up to 8.00 tonnes gross.3.3metre height. 2.5 m width. 9.00metres length

I shall advise of the outcome, as I use to be with RACWA for about 47 years

Tony, that's because they can't decide if its a vehicle with a big enclosed canopy on the back, or a caravan with a motor. They wouldn't insure my ute., its a manual they said, no o o o its an auto matic, but they don't make one, well they do now, can I speak to your supervisor please DUH!

 Hello Ian

Perhaps someone high up in the RACWA, is looking for a higher position in another insurance company, and has trained the lower level staff accordingly

smile Usual disclaimer, the above is just my theory, so I could be wrong smile

RACV Total Care:

I cannot speak highly enough of this package and the people at the
RACV who administer it.

I have paid for it for around 15 years (probably more?) but only
needed to use it once about five years ago when my previous 4WD
finally died (totally) in a country town in Gippsland on a Sunday
afternoon - not a time of much activity in such places. Fortunately I
had mobile coverage and my "Personal Carer" at the RACV did a
brilliant job of sorting things out and having me and 4WD towed 300km
home - at no cost - that same day.

Don't leave home without it.

It certainly looks like the RAC in Western Australia, want the motorhomes to be insured by someone else

Below is their answer to my enquiry

Good Afternoon Tony,

Thank you for contacting RAC in regards to Motor Home insurance.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer you a policy of insurance as you fall outside of our underwriting acceptance criteria. For information about alternative insurance options you can contact insurers directly, the Insurance Council of Australia or NIBA (unless you already have someone acting on your behalf

If we can assist you with any further query, please do not hesitate to contact us on 13 17 03 between the hours of 7am and 8.30pm Monday to Friday or 8.30am to 5pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Regards

Trish
