Roadstar Dreatime Cruiser Loung to bed conversion

We have recently purchased a 2006 Roadstar Dreamtime Cruiser and are in the process of readying it for our first trip. I notice that on the front of the lounge base there are two strips of wood that stick out about 4 inches. (See photo)  I am assuming that they are to support a bed base. Can anyone tell is this is correct, and if so what it looks like.

Welcome to the gang Redgum46, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Looking at the pic and IMO I would say yes. Just cut a board to fit with a support along the outer edge and a bit of a mattress and you have a kids size bed.

The seat cushion looks like it has a bump on the outer edge so could be a bit uncomfy.

G'day Redgum....Very similar to my Jayco Heritage Dining set up before I converted to a double bed using the existing table....you can purchase folding brackets at most caravan dealers to put on the left hand end....mine supports 2 grandkids easily....they love it....we never used our dinette anyways as we have light table setting we use under the awning....the whole set up can be returned to a dinette again very easily....good luck...Hoo Roo

Thanks guys I thought it may have been an original fitting as the supports are covered in the same fabric as the rest of the lounge. I have asked Roadstar but as it is an older van they may be unable to assist. I guess it wouldn't take too much work to set up some ply with folding legs that could be dismantled and put in the front boot for traveling. Its not going to have to support much weight. Comfort is not an issue only the dogs will be sleeping on it!!!!

Hey.

The table should have a shorter sect that fits into base.
The table then sits on base. side and end timbers.
From memory.

We've had 3 Roadstars and One Compass. All had it. None got used by us.
two persons only.

You coming with us. Come in your own. As we did most yrs.

It's known as privacy.

We turned our club lounge into a bed....it's an extra long double size/king single. While we have a queen bed it was also good to have a bed that I could sleep on when his snoring became a bit much!
Made it myself with a couple of bits of wood and a sheet of ply. Made a cushion and covered it. Put a couple of doonas under the sheet to even out those seat bumps and it was actually very cosy! If I can figure out how to load a pic on here I will do so!

Sorry Redgum, gave ya a bit of a bum steer, sort of. I forgot all about the table being used as the bed.

Here I was yesterday thinking I got up before Uncle Al too, bugga. I got up earlier today to try and beat him to the start of the day.

Yes that's what I thought and the previous owner said something about it but they had never used it. I tried the table top but it doesn't fit as it is too wide. It sits on the long side but cant reach the small side due to the side panel of the lounge sticking out. I guess the original top could have been replaced.

I have sent an email but no response yet they are probably looking for some old employee who was around in 2006 to tell them how it worked

The original Roadstar company that would have made your van went belly up in 2008/2009.

OLD.

My "new" one was built in 2000. The Others. Previously.
I had it for near 14 yrs. after buying it a coupla yrs old.

My Opinions.
They the best value for money. and definitely Quality, on the market.
With a SUPER comfortable interior.

And they not all white walls with grey panels and flat seats. Booooring.

Homely... Is what most called them.

Well.
It IS your home while you using it, Right.

Yours is a "modern" model. Be glad you got one hey.
