There was an article in today's Toowoomba Chronicle (8th Sept. 2017) that read "In a major boost for tourism in the region, the Lockyer Valley is now home to an RV Park. The parking area is at William Kemp Park off East Street, Gatton and was officially completed late last week. Mayor Tanya Milligan said the accomplishment now meant Gatton could boast the title of an "RV friendly town". The RV park is available to all self-contained vehicles to park for up to 48 hours during their travels. Gatton is one of 315 other towns across Australia who have the "RV friendly town" status.

From my recollections, William Kemp Park is only 2 blocks from the main street and I think the RV area is where the old Gatton Swimming pool used to be. The new aquatic centre is now in the showgrounds.
