Jim Mitchell park near Stanthorpe---------Called in and had lunch there in the park this year, very quite, clean and good for a couple of nights. We will be using it.

Wallangarra Lions Park---- Yes ok but close to the highway, can be noisy. had a few cups of coffee here, can do better for a sleep.

Glen Innes Showgrounds----- Stayed there this year for 3 weeks. great spot to base while touring around the area, low cost, power, plenty of clean showers and toilets, lots to enjoy in the area with good drives to near by places. The museum was interesting near the hospital.

Mother of Ducks Lagoon Guyra----- to me its ok for an overnight, Bowls club good for a meal. if its been raining can be a bit how you do with mud, damp under foot, spoke to a couple who stayed for a few nights and have enjoyed this stop a few times.

Bendemeer good no tv? ----- we have stayed at the Rodeo Grounds several times now, been good for a couple of nights each time. the hotel across the river serves good meals with week day specials. Normally by the time we pull in here we need to unwind and its the perfect spot to do so. If you need tv try the caravan park they get reception up there.

Add Armidale Showground to your list, a very pleasant place to settle for a few nights. Check the Tourist information Centre, they have a low cost town tour worth doing, gold coin donation. There is some pretty drives in this area between N/Ps, waterfalls, old gold mining towns. A very good experience for 2 weeks we filled in.

Moombi Lookout, between 1 and 2 Moombi climb/descent, free camp good for an overnight, awesome view and very quite. we are going to try it the next time we go south in a couple of months time.

RonD, hope this is of some help, there is so much to enjoy up in that area, most of my working life in transport I just rushed though there now I can take my time and enjoy.

Woolomin is a small settlement on the bank of the Peel River, about 20 km north of Nundle, New South Wales, Australia and about 40 km south east of the city of Tamworth. It is on the Fossickers Way near Chaffey Dam. There is a FREE camping ground with water on tap, very clean flushing toilets, there are several powered sites ($4.00 night from general store). Great little village with very friendly general store less than 100 meteres. Unhitch and explore the New England region - we only spent a week there, but met couple that were there 12 weeks. small river/creek with swimming hole.
