Childers Overnighter Freecamp

Childers Free camp

Not sure if this is new or I missed it last year.

Anyhow, it's a clearly marked 20 hour limit stopover car park,

specially made for nomads, with dump point, water tap and toilets nearby. Not in the Camps book.

A handy overnighter, and no need to go as far as Apple Tree Creek a few kms further north.

On the Bruce highway heading north, as you begin to enter the town, turn right at the blue bus & Caravan parking sign,

a bit before the Information centre & behind the post office.

There is also a free camp at Apple Tree Creak about 4 kms north of Childers.

It is bigger than the one at Childers. Also, the pub at Apple Tree has very good meals.

Sorry Possum3, I should have said not in the Camps 8 book, which is what I have.

But Obviously it's now in Camps 9. Thanks for that correction.

I'm getting outdated here!

Cheers,

I think we are all getting out dated ramblegamble - the only reason we updated to #9 - the child-bride drowned #8 with her glass (bucket) of red. At $59.99 to update an expensive clumsy moment.

We use the Childers RV park for day use only, as we shop in the town. Then we head to apple tree creek, as it is more spacious and we are not like sardines in the Childers park area.
Will stay at Apple Tree in June on the way to Woodgate C.Park on the beach in Queensland.

JayDee, we will have to try apple tree creek. Have not been there. Like Woodgate CP right across from the beach. When we stayed there last year we struck storms and some of the back sections of Woodgate got waterlogged. We were near the amenities and had a slab and were okay. Will check out Childers RV park too. Even though we don't stay at some places, we check them out for future reference. Thanks and Cheers.
