Camping near Inaminka

I am a newly minted Grey Nomad and will be setting off from near Sydney on a trip to the Flinders Ranges in late August and returning by 20th September via Inaminka, Camerons Corner, Sturt NP and the Warrumbungles NP.

Can anyone help with advice on camping sites in the Inaminka Nature Reserve? We are self contained with an off road camper. Ideally we would like to be camped near water.

At the pub/road house there is $2.00 showers

just a few 100 mts down the road ,it's all signed posted to the camping ground

you can camp on the waters edge

there is long drop toilets with in walking distance from the river

we stayed there last October just for 2 nights then went to Burke &Wills dig tree

and camped there

got eaten alive by the mig but loved every day

would love to go back and stay longer

enjoh your trip

 Ditto to the above.

Add the an extra few days at Coongie Lake, the drive is worth it, plenty of camp spots at both areas.

Coongie Lake is a backwater of the Cooper Creek. Awesome.

The last time we were at Innaminka (two years ago) we couldn't get to Coongie Lakes as there was too much water, but yes it is a beautiful place if you can get there. The camping area is called to Town Common.

You need a Desert Parks Pass and a booking to camp (or visit) Coongie. It is about 100km from town. The pass also covers Cullyamurra waterhole, which is on Coopers Creek about 10k upstream from towm.
The town common camp area downstream fro town is $5 per night (from memory) by honesty box.

Cheers,
Peter

Hello all - Have just returned from a trip up the Canning Stock Route - track was VERY rough but the scenery made up for it. The round trip was 10 and half thousand k's but well worth it. Another one to cross off the bucket list but I heard that there are a number of sand dunes to get over before the Coongie Lakes - is this right? I have it on the bucket list also.  confuseconfuseconfuseconfuseconfuse
