I am searching for this Caravan which I rebuilt ( over a 5 year period ) and then sold it around 7 years ago,
Up till present, I believed it was destroyed in a Bushfire which burnt through the hills behind Perth a couple of years ago, but I now know it was spotted in the Midland area last weekend,
I don't wish to buy this Caravan back, but I would like to catch up with the present owner, as I have a heap of information to pass on to them, one fact is, that it is the only one of it's brand known to exist in Aussie.
This Caravan is called a THOMSON -T - LINE GLENEAGLE , It was built in Scotland in 1970 and was brought to Aussie in the early 80"s ( if not sooner )
If anyone knows who owns it now or where it is located, I would really like to know,
Can't say I've seen it over here on the East Coast KJ, sorry. I do like the look of it and that curved roof though. No chance of water pooling on that roof mate and I tell you that for free. Any pics of inside? Curiosity only.

G'day Guys, You're right about the Caravan being water-tight Dougwe,
WE towed this van right around the Block, including Tassie, back in 2009-10 she towed like a dream and never leaked at all, even in the worst storms that Tassie weather could throw at us.
There are heaps of pictures of the interior of this van, if you log onto Photobucket, type in Thomson by Kiwijim and you can see our whole trip, another place to see it all, is on the Classic Caravan Web site, here it's all there under the heading AROUND THE BLOCK.
The wheels I had converted before Our trip Bigrig, I had the centres cut out of what were Austin wheels and had Holden 14" rims welded onto them, then fitted 185r x 14 c 8ply LT tyres fitted to them,
One problem I had was that on the trip down from Karumba to Isa, I was forced off the road by on coming traffic, and managed to bend an axle, this cost me another two new tyres before we got home.
Keep looking Guys, still no word on it's whereabouts, the word has gone out everywhere now, no response from the VV Forum or any other Forums that I've contacted so far, also adverts on Gumtree have drawn a blank, I keep hoping !!!

G'day , Yes that Caravan has some similarities to the Thomson, except that the roof design is far more pronounced on the Thomson,
It's rather funny that you should pick this particular brand to compare as I ran into a couple down Adelaide way, while on our trip "Around the block" as reported on the Classic Caravan Forum way back in 2010, here's an extract from that Forum..............
One couple we met, (Dennis & Di from Adelaide) who owned a 1971 17ft Aldelma caravan, this van has been in their family since new,
Dennis told me that his Father bought it from the Coppola Bros who were building vans in St Marys Adelaide in the 70's. their van is a full 8ft wide and very roomy as can be seen in the following pics......
In the early '80's we had a 16 ft Millard on site at a park in Normanville that we used to use as a fishing base.
My immediate neighbours John and Jenny, had an Adelma and I was always jealous of the roominess of the Adelma compared to our Millard.
They were a great old van, but only see an odd one around these days.
Jim, I hope you get to find the current owner of your old van..

haven't seen it going through Mandurah or down the Kwinana F/Way - its distinctive enough to stand out and I always have as long a look as I can of vans I'm passing or going the opposite direction

The amazing things you see when nomading Australia
Looks like if it tipped over it could double as a boat; just tie an outboard to it :) Dan
That's exactly what I heard from a Lollipop woman over the Two-way Radio. as we passed through road works in the Otway Rangers on our trip ........ Cheeky Bugger , LOL
Actually it's true, the roof of those Caravans was made in a boat hull jig, then turned over and fitted to the walls, never ever leaked !!

Today I received news that the THOMSON CARAVAN is still around and very much alive !!!!
I received a phone call from the lady who bought the Van from me 7 years ago, she said that she still owns it and although it is now off the road awaiting major repairs, it has been a great van and they have done many trips away in it,
One trip nearly ending in disaster when they broke the draw bar and had to have it welded before returning home from a trip up to Karijini National Park,
At present they have the Thomson stored in a large shed awaiting a complete new draw bar and a new paint job, it will be painted a iridescent green to match a Vintage tow car.
The owner has promised to keep in touch with us as to the renovations and hopefully send us some more recent pictures.
So all ends well for us and the long search for the missing Thomson comes to an end.
Many thanks to all who have told me of possible sightings.
Cheers K.J.
