I stumbled onto this, and thought that there might be something of interest for the experts out there. I know car owners can be like dog owners so let her rip.
Depends on who does the reviews. Plus they have a nice way with words for example Jeep uses a Fiat motor whereas a Colorado uses a "refined Italian sourced motor." LOL

All motoring/caravan mags' reviews are subjective rather than objective.
I always read them and if you read enough of them, the reviewers seem to use the same words/phrases for any/all vehicles they test/review. We certainly would never suggest that the advertising within the mag has ANY influence on the 'colour' of the review. It is difficult to find an objective review/er.
It is like asking the owner of a particular vehicle/caravan how they like what they have. Most of the time they are very happy with their choice and sing its praises ... because it was THEIR choice. (unless of course they have had problems and have yet to offload the vehicle/caravan). Some will even have their opinions coloured by "I met a bloke whose sister's aunty's cousin's eldest son had XXXX problems with XXXX vehicle".
OH ... and I do hesitate to suggest that opinions are also formed, changed or overturned on forums.
It also needs to be remembered, it really does depend on how the individual is going to use the vehicle - if it is only to be just a black-top tow rig it will be a completely different choice to a dirt road, remote area tow rig.
Really, when it is all boiled down ... all vehicles on the market are pretty good these days. It is often how people use them that forms their opinion of its worth or shortcomings. As for vans ... the manufacturing practices seem to also dictate the (often unfortunate) quality received. However, most do what they were designed for.
The phrase - grain of salt - comes to mind often.

Yeah, of course I had tongue firmly in cheek when posing this rhetorical question
Over the years I've come to ignore many of the wholly biased views fed to us by critics with an agenda, or with limited exposure.
