This is my first post having only just joined the forum. My rig started its life as a Denning Landseer and spent a good portion of its life as a Greyhound express coach. I bought itdirect from Greyhound and started the process of conversion by raising the roof by 400mm, relocating the entry door, putting a slide out room behind the driver that includes a three seater couch and then re-sheeting and painting.
Since then, I have populated the roof with 9 solar panels feeding into a Lithium Ion battery bank to provide 240v for the house. I have finished putting all of the infrastructure in the former luggage bins waiting for connection to the house.
i have just moved inside to start the conversion which I hope will be somewhere near finished by the end of August (as you must have a goal).
i plan to tow my Ranger ute behind on an A Frame to give us a 4WD mobility and to allow the coach to remain set up while the car is used as transport.
I am in Bayswater, Victoria and work on the coach whenever time allows.
Hi there guys, the Lithium Ion bank is set up at 24v x 800amps of depth. I worked on the basis of the whole house using 240v appliances so need the grunt to feed the inverter. I have a smaller bank of lithiums set at 12v torun water pumps and LED lighting. The batteries themselves are Victron.
It may be a few weeks before there is anything obvious inside to see as there is a bit of the mundane happening now such as wiring looms being run in and stringing plumbing through. I am currently laying up some fibreglass panels etc. that will be used inside, I have also made the corner shower cubicle which of course has to be inside before I can think about building bathroom walls etc.
alan, i dont have an interest as in going to build something similar,but i do have a genuine interest in the progress of your project,as i guess many others might have on this forum,i for one look forward to the updates.....cheers ray
Building one of these coaches is certainly not a project to be entered into lightly, if I had been half way smart, I would have bought something that is already usable.
Having said that, I enjoy the this project and am happy to share progress as it happens.

I am struggling with the 'must have a goal" bit- was a year late last easter- much to the disapproval of swmbo, with our fitout, B10m DD Volvo.
Its all good fun though, look forward to catching you on the road one day
