On the way home ..( Holiday no2 )

Fraser Range was a great stop over for 2 days rain & all... on the road again next stop was Mundrabilla... this not a fancy place to stay , toilets are clean & the sunset was nice a few friendly locals hopping around.... Gidget thought it was her time to show them who was boss ...that was till one hopped towards her she couldn't get back in the van fast enough....now to watch from the other side of the window with a few barks to let them know she was still here ....next to Penong  ... been here before the park is a nice place to stay clean & friendly the windmills are a nice sight to see.....Must have taken ages to put them together .....who knows where we will be next not in a hurry to get there ....here we are at Ellington  a nice place to stay just out of town clean toilets.... coffee & cake from the bakery was yummo.... looking over the ocean was peaceful ....gidget was happy not to share her ground with any roos ..lol... after 2 days we are on the road stopping at Wilmington p/garden ....now  this place look to inviting  (who wants grass in the bush anyway )  we found the people friendly everything was clean after two days we are off to  Menindee ... water in the lakes again ( who know for how long ) this is a great  place to set down & put your feet up for a few days very small town locals are friendly ..you should try the pizza & coffee ... yummo... the small  shop is opposite the park/playground  they also have other goods for sale  ... didn't go to the pub looks ok from the out side .....Gidget was happy to get out of the van/car for a few days .....now for the last leg ... Wentworth nice park near the river over night here then one last stop before we see home again ....left the park heading to next stop having a yak to the old driver next to me talking about the bumps in the road when he said "oh ****" I look up from the book to see a ute coming at us picking up speed as she/he gets closer "**** was not the word I used" one car length away from us (looks like she/he was asleep) pulls the ute back to the other side nearly taking out the cars on her side ....that was too close to meeting my maker .....all I could think of was thank god we where doing 90 not the 100 speed limit that car would have been under us if we had been doing the 100....every thing worked great when the old man hit the brakes  .....I went & brought a lotto ticket ...didn't win ......now to put a camera in the car for the next trip....now to clean & re-pack the van for the next trip not sure  where to ...Gidget is happy to have her backyard again  .....safe travels  everyone

Sounds like you had an enjoyable 2nd trip & luckily got home safely.

Thanks for sharing.

After a few weeks on NSW central coast SWMBO has got the bug again & is putting pressure on me to go touring.

Perhaps after I finalise a few mtce projects on the van.

It will be a toss up between Vietnam/Cambodia or a leisurely drive up to Darwin (for the fourth time).  Might try a few 'farm' stays and free camping and have another look at Cape Crawford & a flight to The Lost City.

Hi Anita, glad to see you posting about your great trip - glad you enjoyed it.  Just a hint re posting on this game - the answer you put up was from quite a long waaaaaaay back - check the posting dates, and you will see what I mean.

Welcome to our world of travel, make sure you read all the forum posts,  through Techs, Solos, I Digress etc, etc., a lot to learn  on here, and some very helpful people.  We also have a "get together" section, where you can go and camp up with other GN's, meet new people and make new friends.  There is one in WA late September 2017, we will be there, it is on private property, just north of Perth, pets are welcome - look for Seabird in the Get Togethers section.

Enjoy your travels.

Hi anita,

Great reading after needing to read a couple of times. I think we have all had close calls like you talk about, I know I have. Slow and steady wins the race though.

Now, why did I need to read a couple of times. Firstly, the last time I suggested what I am about to say I got shot down by a lovely person? However, I risk that again.

Is it possible to add a paragraph or two to break it up? The old eyes are not as good as they used to be and I find it hard to read too many lines joined togther without a break here and there. If I have this problem just maybe others do too. I'm sure you don't mind me saying something.

I know the rules but we are not sitting exams here just having fun in the playground and passing on information to others that might not be so lucky as us or like me, just enjoy other's words of wisdom.

Thanks for listening and,

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

 Agree 100%.

My comprehension keeps dropping off as I get older & I used to be a competent speed reader of complex technical & legal docos .. but that was 20 years ago!

Paragraph spacing seems to help.
