Hi

we are doing an east to west crossing of the Simpson Desert with friends and then continuing across to WA with them. Due to the itinerary, schedule, etc, we need to drop our van off on the western side of the Simpson before heading back to Birdsville where we will be meeting up with our friends. Can anybody suggest a secure location (caravan park etc) where we could store the van for about a week?

Riba's Underground at Coober Pedy would be OK and reasonable prices www.camp-underground.com.au/

Don't know if the Publican at William Creek would take the responsibility of looking after a van ring and see www.williamcreekhotel.com/

There are no facilities at Oodnadatta that I'm aware of although there is a camp grond at Coward Springs www.cowardsprings.com.au/oodnadatta.php

Give the Mount Dare hotel a call. They may be able to store it for you.
