composting toilets ideas please

Hi all

Ok thinking of a composting toilet how good are they?

Natures Head by eviro Pro.

Thinking of getting one.

The other alternative is a cassette toilet but they are all rear empty I cant find on with front cassette removal.

Hello Ken

This question has come up previously

From memory, (so do not quote me on this), one poster mentioned that one of the drawbacks, was that you had to wait quite a while after the last use, before it decomposed, and you could empty it

Set out below are three links to the same question, on this forum

http://thegreynomads.activeboard.com/t63290143/composting-toilet/

Hope that this info is helpful to you

Just be ivilised mate.
Thetford and chemicals.

OR... Shovel in paddock and a layer of lime over ever "discharge".

Agree with you Macka - just watched the Canadian "lass" showing warts and all video of her Composting toilet - Mate I would prefer to use a bucket/spade. Thetford cassette is only way to go (pun intended) in an RV.

I can just imagine campers emptying their waste in camping areas thinking it has composted and also emptying 8 litres of urine undiluted in one spot will attract vermin. Did you notice the amount of filth collected around the hinged seal? How is this emptied and cleaned, probably with a lot of water, sort of defeats the purpose.
