G'day everyone. The time is fast approaching where we will need to replace our camp chairs. Currently have Coleman but am looking for back support and comfort. There seems to be a plethora of chairs out there. Would be pleased to hear of members thoughts of what they consider are the best fold up camp chair. Cheers Daz
got mine a while back at BCF, not cheap but had vital ingredient- bases made of metal, not plastic.
Rated for 150kg too, in case the missus sits on my knee after a few red wines
We got 2 of the Aldi ones last time they were on special
They were not comfortable to sit in for me
So we returned them no problem at all
We also been looking at the BCF ones the backrest was a lot better but the armrest were an disaster to me
so we still looking
It seems that the one's we bought by BBQ galore a few years ago still have to do for a while
I've got an Aldi one from their last sale. Not comfortable at all. To sloping instead of sitting upright. No good for my back.
Will turf thst on in the shed for one of my sons I have here. See how that goes.
Thanks for the tip about the chair Marj. I was thinking of heading to Aldi on Saturday to buy one. Looks like I'll save my money and put it towards a different one.
We have Wild Country ones bought from Aussie Disposals. Adjustable with high back and solid plastic arms. They do not fold up to a small package but are flat. Not cheap either. $80+. But have good back support and a head pillow

If you did want the Aldi one Pam it's here if you do.
But I found it very sloping, felt like I was slouching and made my back ache.
We have had most types over the years. Our latest is the Oztent King Kokoda chairs.
The chairs have lumber support adjustable straps. They are sold in most camping stores.

Another vote for the Oztent King Kokoda chairs. Ours is a Kokoda chair which has a slightly lower back height to the King Kokoda (doesn't seem to be available anymore). We love the adjustable lumbar support and the solid aluminium arms. We find it very comfortable and has a 5 year warranty.

Up to you. Might be different for other people.
Thanks for the offer Marj but I think I'll keep trying out each camp chair until I find the one that's "just right"...a bit like Goldielocks.
Six years ago before we hit the road, we bought two Super padded jumbo coleman chairs. The reason was a) the padding, b) the adjustability and height to be able to eat at a table c) comfort and d) warranty
Less than 12 months later, the padding had gone/sagged, so we returned it to BCF and as it was still under warranty, got our money back. (Note: they said we were using the chairs too much)
We replaced with chairs that were comfortable, good height to be able to eat at table, and trampoline straps on the side. Within two years we started replacing the bungy cords. I think these were Dune.
Now, we have Oztrail 5 - have had for the past two years. These have been the cheapest and have lasted the best.
Whatever you choose, you need to be able to sit at a table and eat, as well as enjoy as a relaxing outdoor chair. So make sure you try before you buy.
