I carry a Low profile trolley jack from SCA + hydraulic bottle jack in back of tug - better than anything else search.supercheapauto.com.au/search%20jack. If you need to work partially under raise with trolley jack and use bottle jack as a safety stand.

Hi Ozzieowl welcome to the site, I bought a 'Trail A Mate' of a fellow GN if you go into items for sale on page 2 you will see a photo of it (you can use either the wheel or the flat plate). Don't know if it would fit a Lotus bit it looks to be pretty universal to me.

there are 2 trail a mate jockey wheels
the red one has a atm of 2900 and a 50mm shaft (standard for most jockey wheels)
the blue one has a atn of 3500 and a 60mm shaft
you can order a clamp from trail a mate or one of their suppliers
it is possible that some one in the Lotus Club has one the haven't used

Is this a new van? If so then what they have supplied is not fit for the purpose. The Chassis should have come with the correct clamp for the Trail-A-Mate jack. If so have you approached the agent to have this rectified?

The Trail-A-Mate is the only jockey wheel style device I know of that will jack the side of the van. If Lotus supplied the Trail-A-Mate Mark II then I would say that the van is too heavy for the red one. I would be changing the jockey wheel clamp to accommodate the heavier model.

If the Trail-A-Mate will not fit the clamp, what jockey wheel did they supply?

It would have been nice if the respondents had supplied links to what they were talking about.

Lotus don't supply these jacks it would have been the dealer or previous owner.
What Brian said the jack you have is the heavier duty jack you can get the larger clamp and have wielded on to drawbar but then your jockey wheel won't fit. Or you could sell this jack and buy the lighter jack that wil fit the existing jockey wheel clamp..

I am not a fan of using these hydrolic jacks as a jockey wheel replacement

We have a new Atlantic Endeavour off-road caravan which is fantastic. We have hade a trip to the Flinders and also Lake Mungo. It is a single axle 17.5 footer and the only thing we have found is that the jockey wheel takes a fair bit of effort to wind and unwind. I was wondering if anyone could advise on the type of jockey wheel that would suit our van and be easier to use - maybe a hydraulic one. Our van weighs 2300 kg.

I have one of these with the flat plate rather than the wheel and they are terrific.

You will need a cordless drill with a clutch
