Ok mate great question first off .Let break it down most of the trip can be done on black top and any gravel roads side tracks ect will all be pretty good quality so I would think puctures would be minimal Food only you can work out what the lads will devour but remeber at the WA boarder there is a strict Quarantine station so get a pamplet on whats allowed already cooked meals are OK , there is no water or stores between Ceduna and Norseman .Fuel the longest stint without fuel is probable aprox 200 Ks on the whole route . Most major towns will have water and gas till north of Geraldton then you have greater distances and water can be limited imho I,d be filling up at every opportunity. Climate will go from cold to heating up in Broome . Fowlers bay has water which at best is OK not much in the way of stores ,there are free camps all accross the Nullabor to camp at Newman rock west of Balladonia is a good one, oh do the "head of the bight" as there should still be whales in close in August . North of Geraldton there are also lots of free camps .
Enjoy
water is not readily available across the nullabor so conserve water for drinking by buying showers at servos. No problems getting fuel. Maybe exchange one of the fuel containers for water. A garden pump-up spray bottle makes a good shower and baby wipes are also useful. Keep at least 10 lts of drinking water for emergencies, don't assume you'll be able to re-fill at your next stop.
Don't let the dog wander as wild dog baiting is common. We've had about 15 'crossings' including side trips and never had a puncture
Can get very hot up north - we had lots of 40+ degree days in Oct at Pardoo, south of Broome. Lots of good free/low cost camps along the way but many have no facilities - are you taking a porta potty?
Will be a trip the kids will never forget
