Satelite VAST System

I have searched the forums and there is nothing recent. My van has a winguard system, that seems to be useless unless you are in a main town or very close by. Can anybody suggest a good system (package) they use, did they install it themselves and is auto finder dishes better than ground mounted self adjusting ones.

thanks

David

G'day David

I am sure others will come along and give you plenty of ideas. In the meantime have a look at the various systems here: www.satplus.com.au/

We use a portable system on a tripod and find that suits us. Others like the simplicity of an auto system.

Do a search or look through 'Techies' David, heaps of info on the forum. Make a cuppa and sit back while you read away.

We've had 2 altech set top boxes and borh failed in 6 years. Bought a satking and no problems and reboot rarely and when it does it is much quicker. Sat finder, we bought ours fir $110 on ebay, fine Finally be aware you can pick up 2 fainter satellites in error. They wi get you only 3 bars. The correct optus satellite will get 9 bars on the finder.

I have had a satelite system for about 15 years, (I think), changing over to Vast when it started. Have had no trouble so far. We use it a lot so I can set it up quickly. I have the dish on a bracket on the back of the van, a couple of screws and it is ready to set up.

Got to watch the League.

Good luck,

Bello
