Van heating with the Swift Ecotherm hydronic heater

Am looking at purchasing a Swift Ecotherm heater which works off the storage of your vans hot water. Have read several reviews and all seems to work well, reasonably quiet and good on gas . Can anyone confirm their installation , reliability, running costs etc.

Thank you

Welcome to the gang Nifty an Del, enjoy here and out in the playground.

If you go to the blue line above there is a search box, type in there what you ask as it has been discussed a few time on the forum. I'm sure you will find some information. You might need to adjust what you ask for though.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Have a look by the post by OutbackMk who installed one of the units.

I made my own using the same principle and similar to a car thermal heater connected to a Suburban HW Heater. You can buy all the parts required on Ebay for about $350.00.

Works well and efficient heating using your existing hot water. Otherwise use the Swift unit but also be prepared for some DIY as described in the above mentioned post.

I don't know about their hot water van heating system, but the after sales service from Swift is brilliant !

I have a 2 year old lemon Supreme and after fighting with the Dealer and Supreme for that entire time over the 70+ faults - mainly due to shoddy assembly, Ive given up and pay a caravan repairer.

Recently my Swift hot water system stopped working. They immediately posted me out a replacement element and complete gas starter unit kit - easy to replace and the guy there gave me his mob ph no and told me to ring him anytime 24/7 if I had problems fitting it or it didn't solve the problem.

We had major water leaks from the hot water heater unit in the first week and were in Exmouth. The Dealer and Supreme just said there were no repairers and I would have to come back to Perth to get it fixed. I phoned Swift, they located and phoned a local repairer and arranged it all. The repairer didn't have Swift parts, but Swift said if necessary to swap the complete unit out with another brand and they would pick up the cost. Turned out to be poor installation by Supreme, got it fixed and the repairer charged Supreme.

Highly recommend Swift as a good company to deal with
