Just looked at My Gov account as an increase in the Age Pension is due this month (March). My increase is $1.31 Wow !!!!!! Now to be fair, this might be a partial increase the full increase due on next payment day, but I don't know that.. Maybe after next payment I can buy an ice cream.. I hope our politicians are not doing it tough on their 6 figure annual handouts and first class seats on flights to wherever...
Careful what you post here. We don't want the thread closed...

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
It is very important to remember that BG! By all means feel free to bang on with as much medical, legal or Centrelink advice as you can muster. Don't let the fact that you have zero qualifications stand in the way. Just feel free to let rip. When you tire of those topics hook right in to generators, weight distribution hitches and caravan park fees. If you still have any breath left then please enlighten us as to who attended happy hour and whether they brought a cake.
Under no circumstances discuss politics or anything else that may have any substance. It is essential that we all stay as dumbed down as possible.
Not wishing to make any political statement, but remember yours, mine and our pension comes out of the pockets of others.
I am happy with whatever i receive,it enables me to top up my superannuation, investment income.cheers.
Look on the bright side BG that's $1.31 more than I will get from them this year....and worse still I'll be matching that number for at least another 6. I had a post closed this week because it was deemed to be political and had the potential to degenerate into personal attack. I didn't argue with the umpires decision as I've seen plenty of posts on this forum go that way. Now if we could also stay away from topics such as tug preferences, amphibians, solar power, centrelink, BBQs, towing weights, CPs, WDHs, lemon caravans, lawyers, shonky businesses, Telstra, pets and generators we would eliminate some of the other things that have degenerated in the past.
Maybe it's time to consider censuring or ejecting the people who are repeat offenders at personally attacking others rather than avoiding topics altogether - just a thought.
Never mind BB, I'll give you half of my ice cream... With that list of topics, you haven't left much for the attackers to have their fun.. They don't bother me, I have the hide of a turtle and disregard it all. Been around too long to let insignificant ravings bother me.

DMaxer, I haven't seen you here before but I must say I did get a laugh from your response to BG, and well said lol. Some Posts are quite amusing for sure :). I'm hoping the cake will turn out nice for happy hour later, its always a hit with everyone even the alchie drinkers, last time it was dutch donuts they went down a treat...wink....Kisha
If you need legal advice BG that won't be a problem. I think a few of the posters lived next door to someone whose best friend's cousin had a child that did legal studies one afternoon in Year 3 at Ooonygallarbee High School. That is sufficient qualifications to be an expert here. Perhaps you don't even need that. Just bang on and if it isn't the law, then well it should be.
Glad I could give you a laugh Kisha. You have to admit, it is hilarious.
In Adelaide when I was a teenager (still am) we had a thing called 'the soap box' help every Sunday afternoon in Victor square and people could get on it and rave about anything. A good afternoon's entertainment and no one ever took offence.
We supposedly still have freedom of speech in Australia as long as you don't mention certain things lol.
I'm rich too. On bad luck. Why did I choose working for solicitors as a job? Yikes! Most of them are backstabbers who wouldn't know how look at others positively. Very few are good human beings. Wish I was on the pension.
Helen that's a great memory and one that you should hang on to but soap box speaking actually originated in Hyde Park London in the 1800s. I actually saw one in Christchurch at Cathedral Square before they had the earthquake the speakers were ranting on about all sorts of rubbish to an audience that didn't care about the topic but were being kept entertained anyhow.
We have never been better off in our lives than we are at present.
But like life, where were all these $$$ and benefits when we needed them years ago when we were struggling to provide and raise our family. You know what I mean.... that 50 cent child endowment we so generously received to help with family expenses.
The people of today have never had it better. And that include us.
But I have concerns about the future path that a few "so called" politicians are making very important decisions on my behalf. Certainly not the decisions I would be making.
