Looking at purchasing a Jayco Penguin

We are looking at purchasing an older Jayco Off-road Penguin camper. Wanting it to do Kimberley area and other off road areas. We are an older couple and didn't want to have the pullout camper on a trailer and thought this may be easier to put up and down. Know it's very small but that won't be a problem, bigger than our current tent. Any thought on what they are like , looking at around 2000 -2005 models. Anybody have experience with one and what to look for when purchasing one.

Hi, we have a 2009 penguin outback with a few mods to suit our needs. We love the penguin for it's light weight and quick set up time. Offroad it's good and nothing has broken or fell apart yet! Main thing I would look for is to buy one with the one piece roof. Not sure what year they changed from two roof sheets with a join to a single sheet. Some friends of ours have the two sheets and need to get it resealed every few years to stop it leaking. I would test if you can wind it up and down ok. It takes some effort but should be fairly easy to turn the winder. Canvas needs to be good and all zips and flies intact. Happy to answer any questions if you have any, froggos
