Hi guys we have not long ago purchased a Coromal Seka 475 pop top and are off on little journey from Tweed Heads in March, down to Sydney and on down the coast to Melbourne, then The Great Ocean road to Adelaide. Then head north through Cooper Peady and on to Aires Rock Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and then to Mt. Isa and on down to home.
MY question is we are taking our dog with us and are not sure of wether we can take him to the Rock, or any other place he might not be allowed??? Any help will be very much appreciated.
Sounds agreat trip wasndi, great places all through that route. As for woof, you will find you can't take dogs etc into National parks and some CVP's. I also 'think' Aires Rock is within a National Park so would have a problem there as well. That said, I would think there would be some places you could leave woof at a 'woof' resort for a day or so. Just my thoughts I spose cos I haven't been there yet. It is on the list in the not too distant future.

Uluru, like all National Park do not allow pets. If you stay at the caravan park at Yulara you may find someone to look after your dog when you go into the Park. I think the park allows dogs on a leash. You'll enjoy that big trip.
Anywhere within a National Park in Australia dogs are not welcome or allowed. There are many people who travel with a dog including us so it's a bit restrictive, but with some forward planning it's still posible to see most of want you want.
Ayers Rock Campground advertise that they are pet friendly, so there's a start. We're hoping to go up through the centre this year, but at this stage nothing is set in concrete. Some pet friendly caravan parks have or can recommend a pet minding service. Failing that, you'll ussually meet up with others with a dog and can sometimes set up a deal where they mind your's then you mind there's to enable seeing the sights.
Igniore the people who will say "leave them at home", our dog loves the travel and we love traveling with her.

Hello Wasndi, I have seen a number of posts with travellers making enquiries about their animals. I would find it very difficult (if I still had one) to leave my pet behind. In the last couple of years I have looked after some friends animals when they have been in hospital or gone away. If you have planned your trip and have an idea of where you may be, perhaps putting a request for a dog sitter on this sight could assist you. Dog and cat sitting has become quite popular here in Cairns, even RSPCA or Yaps may have boarding facilities.
Good luck and safe travels.

Pets are not allowed at Uluru. Forget about smuggling them in, the people at the gate are vigilant. I believe, the caravan park allows dogs. A lot of couples visit the rock one at a time as one stays behind to watch after the pet. I have heard that it is likely someone will offer to look after your dog if you will look after theirs.
Most ''pet friendly'' caravan parks do not allow dogs to be left in camp while their owners are absent. Probably because of barking separation anxiety on the dogs part annoying other campers.
