tuit 2.2kw diesel air heater

We want to buy and install heater in van, Has any one installed a Tuit 2.2 kw diesel air heater? looking to buy from Pinnacle in Tas and have it shipped to us in SA. So questions are.

1.  Is this a good unit?

2. Is it easy to install?

3. Do pinnacle provide back up and spare parts?

Hi ajtmb

If you are buying from Pinnacle Wholesalers I think you will find they are in Ballarat Vic.

They also sell the Planar Diesel heater which we purchased last year, have not used it yet but it came with very good reviews. We purchased that model as the Tuit had only arrived that week so did not know much about them, and still don't. To be honest they "all" look the same!!

We paid $950 for ours
good luck
Ian

Pinnacle are not n Tasy they are in Ballarat Victoria we bought a planer diesel heater from them and it works great and was easy to fit and we have not had any trouble with it in five years . They were good to deal with and I don't know whether they carry parts for them . The brand you are looking at is new to them and I have now knowledge about it but would think it would be OK as most brands seem to be similar

Oops, yes pinnacle are in VIC, There web site says

This is a top of the range Tuit 2.2Kw diesel heater made by Belief, PLEASE NOTE- All parts for this diesel heater are interchangeable with the Dometic (Eberspacher Airtronic) D2 diesel heater if you wish to interchange any operating parts etc

So I suspect its a copy of the more expensive Eberspacher. Hoping someone can tell me if the Tuit is a reliable brand.

Belief are a Chinese copy of the Eberspacher, the same for Tuit

Currently with the English pound being very low in value you can get a genuine Eberspacher kit complete for under $990 from either England or Turkey. I have dealt with both suppliers without any problems, recently (1 month ago) fitting an Eberspacher to our RV.

For further deals on Eberspacher look up eBay, both suppliers are there or I can give you the names of both.

Cheers

If you were to buy a Belief from Dieselheat in Tasmania I can assure you they will look after you.Step by step phone help if you need it etc.

I have bought 3 Belief units from them as, one reason I wouldn't touch an Eberspacher is they are Dometic and I try to stay as far from Dometic crap & poor service as I can.

The Eberspacher I recently purchased from England was from "info@redman.com"  the person to contact is Ed.

The service was exceptional, Fedexed and arrived within 7 days, price of freight was included plus I asked for an upgrade of the control unit to a 801 Series which he included in the lower price bracket to avoid GST and any import duty.

Eberspacher is NOT a Dometic product. I have had a Eberspacher in our yacht for six years without any problems whatsoever and know of other yachties who have had them for many more years without any issues, cannot say the same for the Chinese products as I have been at the service/supplier when problems have been in attendance.

Correct, but does that make it a Dometic product?

I can understand about avoiding a poor distributor though, but hopefully it does not mean a poor product therefore one hopes not to experience poor after sales with a warranty claim.

HI ,I HAVE INSTALLED EBERSPATCHER AND TUIT ,THE TUIT IS A CHINEESE COPY OF EBERSPATCHER AND ALL PARTS FOR TUIT ARE EBERSPATCHER. BOTH PROVED VERY GOOD UNITS,TUIT INSTRUCTION MANUL IS NOT USER friendly, but there is a 3 page printout in language we all understand,I would buy from diesel heat, tasmania,Graeme yost  0418130971 very helpful and cheaper than most  other supliers.one word of warning, frost will turn your diesel into jelly, put a fuel additive for winter conditions in to the fuel tank.Good luck

I do know this but the answers are correct, when viewing the current ad's, from the same dealers today. When you want answers to your questions you should search forums, instead of just throwing out a question willy nilly, because you can find the answers usually from past posts, and at the moment, questions are being asked currently about these heaters around the traps.

At first when I read your post I thought you had been on your bike in the bush to long but no, it was good thinking to show people that a "Seach Button" will work and sometimes be a good way to go.

The diesel heater has been around now for a quite a few years, a bit like the wheel and there really has not been any improves with either.

The purchase source of the heater is a bit of challenge. EBay or a local seller or named brand.

I personally went on Ebay, spoke with a person, very economical and 3 years on, excellent result.
