Good morning all. School is back in Qld today. Don't run over any lollypop ladies (and men) - School Crossing Supervisors (me and them). Watch out for children crossing the roads, your speed through school zones and the Boys and Girls in Blue will be out in force. I usually spend part of my working morning watching forgetful motorists getting booked. Take care all.

Lol yay.....we used to say when our girls went back to school........now we say yay coz when schools starts means it safe to go away for a week or two to all those places you cannot get to.........
However two more weeks here in the west.......then off to Esperance yay........
BTW .......always on the look out for children in the burds ......more so now coz they have noses in phones ....
Lollipoppers are dangerous......they have a weapon :)

I *may* have danced a wee jig this morning. Because school is back and that should means I can go to the supermarket without having to dodge hordes of screaming rug rats............
And, as Bushpie noted, we can now go away safely/quietly............

Totally agree gaylehere but not just in school zones you need to be alert at those times of the day anywhere around town when all the kids are either going to or coming home from school. Getting booked would be the least of my worries if I were to hit a young child. The thing that really annoys me is while everyone else is obeying the speed limit some parents are disregarding the no stopping signs, double parking or just pulling up and letting the kids out surely this is just as risky as not slowing down.
I used to be a lollipop lady too Gaylehere, back in the early 80s.
The only time I didn't enjoy it was in severe thunderstorms.
School hasn't gone back yet in Victoria, but in Echuca we do have some permanent 40 signs so have to be mindful at all times.
Police were out at our local primary school. Have the flashing lights to indicate it is a 40 kph school zone and they were still booking people. Tomorrow will be the same so take care folks.
