Reckon you have two broad options: 1. Over the Great Divide e.g. to Omeo, then either via Bright and Myrtleford, or Mt Beauty and Dederang. Should be pretty in autumn, unless there are late bushfires. These routes are steep and winding in places, with some steep downhill sections, and I am not sure if the Falls Creek way is all sealed?
Option 2 is longer but flatter and easier driving: Princes Highway to Eastlink, to Ringwood, then Lilydale, Yea, and north via either Seymour or Maindample, to Wangaratta, then Beechworth.

Reckon I would go via Pinnaroo, Ouyen, Toolybuc, Deniliquin, Wodonga, Yackandandah.

We did this run about 12 months ago in a motor home, however I see no problems with a van.smile

I've been Santa's way to Wodonga - easy run with a van.

Cheers, John.

I had assumed the poster meant Swan Reach in Gippsland, near Lakes Entrance!
