wiring of a New Age Manta Ray Deluxe

Hi All,

I have just purchased a 2nd Hand Van. The previous owner has given me a wiring diagram so I can wire up the Tug. I have worked out all the wires except one which is on pin 9 which comes from the Brakesafe unit on the van to the car. I am wondering what this wire is for and what it should connect to. Some have said it gives power to the Brakesafe unit but that is accomodated from another plug (ie No 8) which is also the fridge when driving. I wonder if it is for a monitor that sits inside the Tug. The previous owner said that he had no monitor in his vehicle. I wonder if I need to have this connected to anything at all. If some one can help me I would be grateful

Thanks David

I don't have a break safe monitor but I believe that NSW registered vans require that one be fitted.

The link below shows the connections for the monitor that I suspect is what the wire is for

Thanks Guru,

That is what it appears to be. Interesting though because thats what I thought it was but the previous owner said that he had nothing put in his car for the breakaway. Given the thorough way he had prepared his vehicle I was somewhat surprised. At this stage I am unsure whether I will bother with the monitor in the car. Its not required in Victoria, and in any case all it monitors is the breaksafe battery. As I can see the battery, I will monitor it myself at this stage. Also given I have just bought a new car and ripped it apart to fit all the fridge plug and extra heavy duty wiring for the 2nd battery in the Discovery 4, I really dont like the idea of having to do it all over again. Thanks for all your help

David

Remote battery monitor at this point is NOT required in other states, only NSW, however a National submission has been put that ALL states the remote battery monitor must be fitted.
