Missed once in a lifetime photo opportunity of a silly old bugga

We have been away in our campervan for 4 days  at ****le Creek/ Reserche Bay in Southern Tassie & with weather forecast for 1 day of 60 -90km gale force winds we chose a nicely sheltered free camp site with a nice beach in front & securely set up our fully enclosed annex for more room & the porta-poti.  As forecast on the 3rd day we had gale force winds &  with hail & rain squalls lasting about 5 minutes every 30- 45 minutes  our fire pot had a good work out all day. In the late afternoon when our only neighbours decided to take their open dingies out & check their craypots I foolishly thought the weather must be improving & as we only have an outside shower connected to our hot water & had not put up our shower tent that day that I would have a quick shower. All went well until with shampoo in the hair & all soaped up another hail storm hit & as I finished my shower in the hail & rain Jackie for some reason did not come outside to take a photo to share.noAny one else had an outside shower in a hail storm or should we take less bottles of red when we go camping lol.

That would have been funny to see but no fun to be in. Cheers.

I reckon the spot you stayed was where we camped - while back now. We had rain - filled 2 x 20ltr buckets, could have had more. Next day was terrific, and the people in front of us caught lots of fish, gave us our first taste of abalone (bit chewy, but quite nice) - and some squid - very yum.

I can just see it - on second thoughts, perhaps not! Hahahahahaaa!

Hi Gaylene,

It wasn't to bad with the hail about rice size giving a nice massage lol. We found the situation hilarious at the time & as the other 3 days were nice & warm we had a very enjoyable trip at a wonderful free camping spot.

Hi Jules,

Yes as at my age it would not have been a pretty sight  but neither were the saturated young blokes when they came back to camp after checking their craypots as their clothing was no match for the conditions & were thankful we kept their campfire going as well with some of the ute load of firewood they had on site.

The Grass? was so green when we were there. Went fishing out from the camp on a rocky outcrop. Later wondered why the seagulls were squarking around out tackle box. Turns out that SWMBO had left the top off our bait container (we were fishing with cubes of steak as we did not have other bait) and the sea gulls were helping themselves. This cut short out fishing.
