UHF laws

Good morning to all ,

Does anyone know what are the laws regarding the use of a UHF radio while driving? As we are all aware Mobile phones are banned unless "Hands Free" but UHF are not hands Free.

Can not find anything on Google about it.

Thank you

Merry Christmas and Happy & Safe New Year to all

Mez

So I guess it is OK pretty much throughout Straya to use a CB while driving.

Just as a gentle reminder to anyone who is not aware

Channel 5 and 35 are not to be used, except as an emergency channel

Hope that I am not trying to teach experienced UHF people how to suck eggs

Hi Tony

I've downloaded and laminated a spreadsheet from this website and keep it in the car at all time - search UFH Cheat Sheet at :

www.withoutahitch.com.au/

As we are new to UHF in Australia it helps.

Cheers

Mez

Thanks for that info Mez, It may be useful to others in the future

Below is a snip of the channels and their use

Note that it is a very hefty fine for misusing channel 5 / 35 and/or interfering with the emergency people using those channels
