We are parked up at our "base camp" in the Central West of NSW at Peak Hill. Unfortunately we don't have room to park the Jayco "Off Street". And at this time of the year we have a "family Xmas" gathering prior to the "real" xmas. This is part of leading the Nomadic life style and having kids in the "Wild West" and the "Nations Capital". Last year Air B & B Manly this year Batemans Bay. So we have need to store the Jayco Outback. Leighton at Peak Hill Caravan Park says "No problems $1- a day". I say to him I am not a cheap skate and more than happy to pay $5- a day keeping in mind these parks do it tough and at this time of the year the old Nomads find it too hot and the xmas holidays have not started.
So the Jayco Outback is parked on a powered site and looks just like the other vans spending nights at the Peak Hill Caravan Park as opposed to being in some corner of the park in a I am not occupied status.
Have to say that this little park on the Newel Highway between Parkes and Dubbo has a well known reputation, good people in charge (owners) and ideally located about half way between Melbourne and Brisbane.
Agee John. The times I have stayed there and on arrival a lovely smell of goodies baking in the oven. Sitting relaxing later an offer of those baked goods arrived by I would say the owners daughter. Very friendly staff indeed and a quiet little park.

Have to agree JohnR, we stayed there the night before they closed the Newell hwy this year, drive through sites, friendly owners and good value with ACC discount. We only stayed one night but next time when travelling that way will make it two nights so we can do the gold mine tour and there is also a fantastic antique store that you can spend time browsing/buying. A lot of items that my grandparents and parents had when I was a kid and not, seen anymore other than in these sort of shops.
Have stayed at Peak Hill many many times, wife has rellies there. A really nice little town with a bit to see and do, the old gold workings are interesting.
Gents for a "real" Haircut try Cec Thetheridges barbers shop where you can still get a singe and he uses Bay Rum too. Not open everyday but Cec works on as needed basis
