I have put a holding deposit on a new van ,it will not be ready to pick up from Newcastle till april next ,can not wate .It is a retreat brampton ,has anyone got one of these vans ,what do you think of the retreat range in general ,Thanks JOHN..

Hi John, we picked up our new Retreat Fraser from Parravans Newcastle only 2 weeks ago, for a shakedown we stayed a couple of nights close to home at the Swansea CP and then relocated 100kms up the road to Hawks Nest for a few nights. So far we are very happy with the van i.e. the quality of build and the fact that everything has worked exactly how it should. While at Hawkes Nest we saw another couple with a Retreat Brampton so we got together enjoyed a couple of coldies and compared notes. They were from Melbourne only a couple of klms from the Retreat factory and have owned a number of different make vans over the last 30 years, their current Brampton was 12 months old and like us they were very happy with it and hadn't experienced any problems. We liked all of the Retreat vans but chose the Fraser because of the layout and the fact that it wasn't as heavy as some of the others in their range. The only issue we had was that we ordered it back in April and being 3 weeks later in delivery than the original estimate SWMBO was halfway through her leave when it arrived and we weren't able to go on the longer trip that we had been planning as a shakedown.
I guess you can always be unlucky and get a lemon with whatever brand you buy but so far we have not had any issues to suggest that this maybe one of them - only time will tell.
Thanks for the reply ,We also will be getting our van from parravans in Newcastle ,Michelle the sales guru ,was very helpful .Ours wont be ready till april next ,so it will be an exciting as the time rolls on .We live in fnQueensland ,but have just come back from a 6 week visit to see our relos ,whilst in newy ,we had a look at a few different brands and the retreat seemed to come out on top .The team at Heatherbrae have given us a good trade in price on our crusader manhattan .We are also getting an additional grey water tank,2nd battery, 2nd solar panel ,extended draw bar ,stone deflector ,and we are having the batteries put into a battery box underneath the van bolted to the chassis .
