Thought I would start a new thread on the subject of using forums to review caravan parks and other camp spots. Imagine the boot was on the other foot and Cps were able to post on line there opinion as to the behaviour of their customers, by name. Would there be an outcry as to whether it was appropriate that a cp manager could decide by looking your name up on a forum as to whether you were allowed to enter. Some of the comments attributed to a traveller could be. arrived with filthy rig and washed on the grass, serviced car on the pad, wrote obscenities on the toilet door, did not brush the bowl, was rude to staff, was very demanding, got louder as got drunker, washed dog blankets in laundry, peed on grass next to neighbours tent, snored so loud kept everyone near awake, emptied potty cassette in toilet. tied clothes line to tree, drove over sprinkler, dogs crapped everwhere, walked around in his jocks, ran noisy aircon all day and night, had a domestic fight with spouse, did not join in happy hour, the list could go on and on . Yes it would be very different if when you arrived at a caravan park you had to have good reviews and references from your last three stops (as you do in residential). Hope we would all pass the mark and be welcomed with a smile as a good traveler and temporary tenant. Cheers Daz
I believe dazz49, you make a very good point. I would imagine many travellers around our fabulous country would be guilty of some if not all of your "list" of complaints that caravan park managers could put forward. This day and age a data base of unsavoury travellers, would help over time, to weed out the repeat offenders. The law enforcers, real estate agents and agencies that have the list of financial fraudsters, all have a data base. Such a data base would have the ability to "flag" offenders in seconds. It would be up to the individual park managers to make decisions on whether to or not allow a "flagged" person to enter and stay in their park. A great idea that over time, could "clean up" the travelling public and make it pleasant for everyone.

Unfortunately, one idiot always spoils it for everyone who does the right thing. Personally, I'm sick to death of dumb signs stuck on every facility in parks with endless instructions on what and what not to do. Its prefictable what theyre gunna say, I no longer read them and just get on with it.

I agree about the signs , but !!!!!, we get idiots every day that think that they don't apply to them . (ie) speeding thru the park , washing their doggy gear in the machines , letting their dog run free etc etc
I run a park and I get fed up to the neck with people that don't give a sh...t about other people and their rights . I have one rule in our park you break it and your out the gate . Then all the good folk don't
Yeap - I understand and accept what mezza says - the idiot factor is all around us, not just in CPs.
Perhaps the "over signed" CPs would be better having it all on one board near the entranceway - then you can choose to book in or not and then another in the office that you can quickly glance at while shelling out your dosh.
The watch the idiots carry on being idiots despite how many sign are there or not.
But I have been in some CPs were I reckon their ablution blocks are held together with the numerous "you cant do this..." and if taken down, the building would collapse
I always do a walk through a CP before paying (and if they wont let me inspect their park, then bye bye) and decide if this is a place I want to stay at - especially the permanents who can make your life hell with their noise, rowdy cars, parties and taking over the toilet and shower blocks

The signs are there because there are a lot of ''not too bright'' folk around. Reminds me of the other day when I went to a Masters 50% off sale. There were signs everywhere showing the price reductions. $20 now $10, $30 now $15, $40 now $20, $50 now $25 etc etc. All the way up to $1000 now $500. Didn't anyone do maths at school?
