High and dry: NZ earthquake lifted sea bed by up two metres

Just been talking to an old Mate who lives within 100 km of the Earthquake Epicenter,

He said that they did have a bit of a rock and roll for a minute or so, but all's well and no damage around the homestead,

New Zealand is on the boundary of the Australian and Pacific tectonic plates, which form part of the so-called Ring of Fire, and experiences up to 15,000 tremors a year.

My Mate was telling me that the sea bed along the Kaikoura coast has in places risen out of the sea by around 2metres,

There are Crayfish crawling all over the place, and shell fish are there for the picking by the ton,

Marine life has been exposed as the sea beds are forced up. Picture: Anna Redmond/Facebook

I suppose there must be some good coming out of this Disaster, for those who like Cray's and shell fish anyway. hmm
