re: waeco fridge

Some time back posted about being ripped off by the guy who installed a battery (apparently wrong one), anyway to cut the story short after threatening him legal action and back and forth he eventually installed a new one.  Everything seemed fine but fridge never came on and I thought I might have to charge overnight, which I did last night - still not working not sure why and am going away today only for 3 nights but just wondered if it could be a fuse?  Lights working, electric hot water working.

Any ideas appreciated.

Helen

If your 12 volt compressor Waeco fridge was originally connected to your house battery/s

It could be a blown fuse

It could be a wire that had fell down alongside the battery, and accidentally not been connected

It could be if wires had accidentally been touched on the wrong terminals, the fridge protection tripped (there may be a recess button somewhere on your fridge)

Perhaps instead of everyone guessing, someone in your area with a multimeter, could check it out for you

Hope that this info is useful to you

Thanks, guessing is ok - that way I can check those things out.

Will wait until I get back Monday and take it to Auto electrician.

Look on net.or phone book.
See if there's a Waeco/Engel fridge mechanic/agent in your area. and take to him.

We have one in Rockhampton. other areas much have one too hey.

You go past my old place on way too.
Seaford..

Kids used to love the caves at Northern end of Bay 40 yrs ago.
Good fishing too off Jetty. Though I do believe it's been closed down now.

I'm back from Rapid Bay today.  Park was very quiet when I got there Friday arvo but by 8pm it was over flowing.

Struck it rich as the people up from me got talking and was telling them about my fridge not working, Kerry (the man) got all his tools out and poked around with my batteries, he was a bit baffled by the end and thought my fridge would need pulling out but went to the outside vent and got if off and then found out that the earth wire was missing (I'm still not sure what that means) but he fixed up a temporary one for me and fridge worked well all week-end.  I was so happy and asked him could I give him some money and he was quite offended and said that my smile was enough for him.

This morning when I got up, Him and his wife said that someone had pinched one of their outdoor chairs during the night which was disappointing, anyway I had 2 chairs given to me when I bought the van but didn't really like them as they seemed a bit hard to get out of, so gave them to him and later his wife came over and said "you have restored my faith in humans"!  GREAT!!

Anyway I don't really want to tell everyone how absolutely fantastic Rapid Bay is (although every man and his dog was there) and right on my doorstep as well,  very clean Park, good toilets, great beach, good fishing from new Jetty, the old one is still there Macka but not safe to use.

Still plenty of greedy people around though!! This dope on the Jetty had 20 squid (limit 15) and he was proudly counting them and telling me how his whole Euro family would get 2 each for dinner tonight!!  No phone reception down there else I would have rang Fisheries.  So good story, bad story!!

Glad to see that you got your fridge repaired OK

There are a lot of friendly, and helpful people out there

Pity about the scumbag who stole the chair
