We have stayed at the Maidens Inn Caravan Park (at Moama, NSW opposite Echuca, Vic) so know just how high the water had to rise to lap at the bottom of the cabins.
I was told by an old bloke 50 yrs ago.(When buying first home)
Never ever build on the flat
Always find a hill and get half way up it. and you'll never go wrong.
If we ever get our feet wet. the rest of Aust is 100ft under
the current High tide levels.
NEVER buy at or near sea levels..
It's a shame so many councils allow building on any flood plains.
Asking for trouble.
They need to take a coupla pages from Hollands (and others)
Levee bank constructions.
EVERYTHING can be made waterproof..
Just takes knowledge.
And Dutchies the best in the world.
Their whole country was floating (underwater)once
I spent lots of hrs driving interlocking piles for docks, Wharves, levees.
and homes. businesses.
